Demolition begins at Gran Central in Panama City, the first step in creating a vibrant 15-minute neighborhood in the city’s historic district.

Where Panama City’s Next Neighborhood Begins

It’s an exciting time for the team here at Conservatorio. Gran Central is officially underway, and now it is no longer only an idea, it is the future taking shape.

The work currently happening on-site is the foundation for more that just a building, it’s the base of a "15-minute neighborhood." This is an urban philosophy that prioritizes the human scale over the vehicular one. By creating a high-density, mixed-use environment, we are ensuring that the essentials of daily life, the morning coffee, the fresh produce from Mercado San Felipe de Neri, the workspace, and the evening social hour, are all within a short, vibrant stroll.

This density is what supports a thriving city. When people live, work, and shop in the same geographic footprint, the streets become safer, the local economy becomes more resilient, and the "actual heartbeat" of the city begins to sync with the rhythms of its residents. The construction work you see today is the first visible step in re-establishing this connection.

The Power of Confidence

This moment was made possible by a specific group of people: Gran Central’s early buyers. The strength of our presales has been the engine behind this rapid launch. In a world that often rewards the conventional, our buyers chose to be a part of something bigger.

They recognized that the historic district offers something the gated communities and high-rises cannot. Their confidence in the vision of Gran Central provided the momentum required to move quickly from blueprints and renders to construction.

To those who joined us early: this milestone belongs to you as much as it does to us.

What to Expect Next

The work happening on-site today is just the opening chapter. In a few months the site will be completely cleared and the foundations will begin. The surgical work of driving pilings will extend for several months while the retaining walls are built, and then towards the end of the year the excavation will start and the basement will start to take shape.

During construction, the neighborhood will continue to evolve. Even before you see Gran Central’s structures rise, other public and private projects near us will come online and the "urban village" we’ve spent years imagining start to breathe.

Welcome to the transformation. Welcome to Gran Central. Welcome home.
